Rick Carlisle Slams Indiana Pacers’ ‘Embarrassing’ Performance in Game 5 Blowout Loss Vs. Knicks
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks produced a statement win on Tuesday night as they decimated the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, 121-91. This series headed into Game 5 at 2-2, but the Knicks took control of Tuesday’s showdown from the get-go, proving that they were the much more superior side on the evening.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle isn’t at all pleased with this shocking result.

Indiana Pacers News: Rick Carlisle Rips Team’s Performance

Carlisle was a bit of a loss for words as he tried to make sense of their 30-point beatdown in arguably the most important game of their season. The tenured shot-caller did not hold back in ripping his team’s performance apart:

“We all own it, but very embarrassing,” he said. “Very embarrassing and a hard lesson.”

It was a collectively poor effort by the entire Indiana squad as they failed to keep up the pace with a determined Knicks side. It’s back to the drawing board for them as this series shifts back to Indiana for Game 6.

That will be a must-win game for the Pacers because another loss will spell the end of the season for them. It’s as simple as that. Win or go home.
